Between 1997 and 2013 the State Heritage Office engaged contract Heritage Advisers to provide services to the regions.
In 2013 the government ceased those services and the WA Local Government Association (WALGA) established a preferred Supplier panel for Heritage Adviser services to provide local governments with a new approach to heritage advisory services.
Having established herself as a preferred supplier through a rigorous selection process, Laura continues to deliver professional advice that supports the maintenance of heritage assets as a vibrant part of the economy and community while identifying risks so that strategies can be developed to respond and mitigate the threats to our important heritage assets.
Heritage Intelligence (WA) provide high-level advice to local governments, as well as local owners and community groups on issues regarding heritage identification, assessment, inventories, policies, conservation planning, works, and promotion, conservation and adaptation of heritage places and cultural tourism.
Development applications are referred to me for written advice in consideration against policies for heritage places and precincts. Integral to the role was the capacity to raise awareness and facilitate funding opportunities aimed at economically sustainable and viable outcomes.
